Starting from Ashes

Thank you all for the good wishes; I could never have imagined how much it matters. Thinking about all of you makes that "Lone Ranger" feeling back off for awhile. And I have such good news about Cuervo!! He finally got to come home yesterday, after an entire week in the hospital.

He has to be confined to the crate for a month - poor baby. I can take him out for short periods but only if he's going to be immobile on my lap. You can see how much of his beautiful coat was shaved. What you can't see is the huge ugly suture line under his arm. He seems comfortable though, he even puts some weight on that leg. And he is sure happy to be back with me. I wonder if he's a bit confused about where he is NOW?? He came home to a different home than he left, but his little nose has been busy checking things out. He is right smack in the middle of the dining room table, in the center of all the action. Later today I'll be packing him up again, and we're going to travel down to my daughters' for Thanksgiving with all my kids and grands. ***VBG***
When I get back, I have to face the daunting task waiting in the sewing room:
Oh dear. I keep peeking in there, then kind of feel faint and gently close the door. I have to figure out where to start! I still can't find the remote for the bedroom TV, but finally turned up my hair dryer. Getting settled is going to be an adventure for awhile...........
Have a wonderful, blessed Thanksgiving - I know I will.

I am so glad that Cuervo is home and well!! I kept thinking about you yesterday. I wounder how he is going to like this crate in a months time!! I can see you getting talked to from there in awhile.... it's will be interesting. He could be just fine with it, but I know some cats would go nuts when they are feeling better!! I am sure he's more than happy to back with you - now he can feel safe again. It's more normal that where he just was with all those unfamiliar smells and people. He's home.

Don't even think about that room till Monday! Then, just make a plan and follow it. If you take it slow and steady, it will be up and running in no time. And when you start, start with the first box. And it will get done from there!! If it takes you a month - who cares??? If you find something you want to work on now before it's done in there, do it. You need that creativity break too - so just do what you can, when you can, and it will all happen. And it's not 'daunting'!! It's just do-able!!! Keep that smile on your face and breathe. I am so glad today is a better day. And enjoy the adventure!! Fresh is nice. It's a new day - let yourself shine!!

Hooray, Cuervo is back home. Home, of course, is wherever you are. And wherever you are is HOME. Just think what fun it will be to set up your new sewing space, discovering all your lovely fabrics all over again. You can work on stuff any time of the day or night with no one else toanswer to. Lemonade, I say!!!

Enjoy your Thanksgiving with your family. I'm sure it will be one of the best ever!

I am so happy you are back. I am sorry to hear about your circumstances, but I am glad you are okay. And Cuervo will be okay soon, too. Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving with your family. Your friends and family were there when you needed them, and that is certainly a wonderful thing to be thankful for on this Thanksgiving. Tackle that sewing room when you have time. Keep smiling. Keep busy, and keep your upbeat attitude. I will keep you in my thoughts, and I'm sending positive vibes your way.

Cuervo is looking pretty fine! I'm so glad you have him back with you, and I'm sure he is too!

I know what you mean about your sewing room. I'm trying to reorganize all my "stuff" and I almost envy you starting from boxes--I kind of feel like I'm just moving stuff from one shelf to another--LOL! Just make up your mind to get in there and start--and I bet you'll be surprised at what you get done! Of course, if you get overwhelmed, just walk away for a bit.

I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving with your family.

Take care - take time - it'ain't over 'til the fat lady sings -- oh heck, having been there, done that, it's NEVER over. Be strong.
