While blog-hopping tonight, I came across Dawn's blog, with the most artful, exquisite minitures I've seen. You have to go look. It inspired me to try it - Holy Moly, it was tough! I spent awhile with the calculator figuring the cuts, and did a bit of re-cutting and re-sewing to come up with this:
And it only took me an hour and a half! Good Grief but it was fun and a challenge and very very satisfying. That center 9-patch finishes at 3/4"! I can see in the picture what I didn't notice on the real thing - I need to take that right side off and try again. Isn't this too much fun for a Monday night?

Okay, I have inspected your block and I went to check out Dawn's, and may I say: you girls are nuts? They are so perfect, and yet so tiny! I have been playing with the thought of making miniatures, but now I'm not so sure... I'm so impressed with you!!!
Love little blocks! I must get that book and make some too!
Yes, Anne has it right - I'm nuts! But I"ve now got all my little blocks made so it is all down hill from here! I"ve never made this small of a block before! I must say it was a challenge but I"m loving the result! Yours looks great!
Hi Suebee! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I would love to have more aracauna hens. It's weird, but most of the time they end up being roosters, while the other breeds seem to be pullets like advertised. I have seven chickens, all different breeds. They are fun. The aracauna and the polish hen are the only ones who I know which eggs belong to who.
Oh,SuBee I am so proud of you..this is adorable. Don't it just make ya crazy w/the teeny stuff! Wish you could join the mini group w/me!
